Description:
Your tour begins with a drive out to the Everglades, about 30 minutes west of the coastline. Along the way, hear about the destruction of wildlife habitat, and the introduction of invasive plants and animals, and their effect on the ecosystem.
Your airboat includes a Captain, and also other passengers. Your airboat ride will be at least one half hour in length. Then, visit a reptile exhibit and meet with handlers, who will offer information about each species.
Next, you will visit the other exhibits and displays, depending on the airboat park you visit.
You can take great pictures, including opportunities to take close-ups of alligators, turtles, snakes, iguanas, and many other species.
On the return trip, learn about a "pollution solution", which involves many different organizations, including research universities, the Army Corps of Engineers, and several government agencies. Hear about a plan to restore the wetlands habitat and clean the water. Find out if there is enough time to save our environment, and which species are already in peril.
