Explore the Cuban Culture of Little Havana

Discover the rich and diverse Cuban culture of Miami with a visit to Little Havana. Learn about local Cuban culture from the 1960s to today’s current issues, including why Little Havana may be lost to history.

See the changes that are happening as more Spanish-speaking non-Cubans move into the area, looking for low rent and employment, plus zoning law changes that threaten the cultural heritage of the area.

Our first stop is the Freedom Tower & Museum. Next, we drive around Marlins (baseball) Park and then drive through the Little Havana neighborhood with an eye to view typical Cuban homes. Enjoy an optional walking tour of the heart of Little Havana and explore Cuban Memorial Blvd., which has many monuments and displays.

Continuing on to Calle Ocho, we visit the Walk of Fame that features tributes to Gloria Estafan, Celia Cruz, Willy Chirino, Tito Puente, Roberto Duran, and Olga Guillot. From there, we visit a cigar factory, a famous nightclub, and Domino Park.

There is time for lunch at a popular Cuban café, where we can ask the locals about the issues of the day. The tour concludes with a return to your chosen location (any airport, cruise port, hotel, or other address in Miami/Dade or Broward Counties).
