Visit Flamingo Gardens

Flamingo Gardens started as a citrus grove where experiments were conducted to create fruit that could be harvested year-round. Trees and plants were collected from around the world and brought here for study. Your guide takes you through the gardens, pointing out various species of birds, trees, and plants.

You also see the home of Floyd and Jane Wray, who founded Flamingo Groves in 1925. Part of the property may be viewed on a narrated Jeep tram ride lasting about 30 minutes.

Today, the property has been set aside as a botanical garden and wildlife sanctuary, including a large free-flight aviary. After rehabilitation, many birds are released to the wild. Take great photos of birds and animals, without cages blocking your viewfinder.
